Description
Anchor is America’s first and oldest craft brewery, with roots dating back to the California gold rush. Today, our beers are handmade from an all-malt mash in our traditional copper brewhouse. Our process combines the time-honored art of classical craft brewing with carefully applied, state-of-the-art modern methods.

12oz can. Really fails to capture the style. Malty toffee tone, awkward orange juice hop tone. Needs more hop bite to balance out the malt tones. Quite weak and lame for the style. Drinkable, but nto a good IPA of any sort.

12oz bottle. A pinch more malt heft and depth than a typical Pils, but still quite easy drinking and balanced. Lots of malt depth, zesty hop balance. Really enjoyable beer.

12 oz. bottle. Drank straight from the bottle. Another typical hoppy, bitter IPA just like all the others. Tick. Nothing to see here - move along.

(Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, tan head. Malty, slightly hoppy nose with notes of dried apricots, orange peel, toffee, dried fruit, some grapefruit, toast and flowers. Malty, hoppy taste with apricots, dried fruit, orange peel, caramel, rye bread and a fresh, balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty, well balanced and harmonious.Very nice.

Translucent copper-amber color with a medium sized foamy white head. The aroma is of grains and corn. The taste is more of the same but with a nice little hop tang . Bitterness is mild with some rye grains bready appeal. Carbonation is lively and prickly Finishes short and dry. This is a nice every day drinking lager type beer. Paired well with some sharp cheddar.
