Muckle Brewing is a small rural family run Northumberland Brewery, established in 2016. Situated close to Hadrian’s Wall this private brewery is located in the garden of owners Tom and Nicola Smith. The brewery, which is based near Haltwhistle, Northumberland specialises in small batch unfiltered and naturally carbonated beers in cask and bottle.

16/5/2018. Bottle from CentrAle, Newcastle. Pours a curiously pale brown colour with an average sized beige head. Aroma of malt, hop, toffee, fruit and light chocolate. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily and watery texture, above average carbonation. Finish of berries with some increasing roasting and bitterness. Grower.

10/5/2018. Bottle from CentrAle, Newcastle. Pours russet brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is earthy, herbal, toffee, hop, grass, heather and a hint of chocolate. Medium sweetness with moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Semi-dry, chalky finish.

10/5/2018. Bottle from CentrAle, Newcastle. Pours amber gold with a very small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of caramel, biscuit, treacle, malt, hop and fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Not bad.
