Description
Sixpoint was founded in 2004 (we like to say it was born at the dawn of civilization, though that’s a story for another time…) in the rough and tumble neighborhood of Red Hook, BKLYN. It was essentially a cult brewery — draft-only, mysterious, cryptic…

In 2010 we released our canned creations, and have been tweaking, improving, and releasing new formulations ever since. Then in May of 2017, we took our biggest step forward to date, releasing all of our ales raw and unfiltered, and simultaneously incorporating new and incredible raw materials obtained over years of sourcing.

In November 2018, Sixpoint was acquired by Artisanal Brewing Ventures.

Draught, forgot that I haven’t rate this one yet. Pours a clear orangey browns, light toffee and malts and then steady hops.

Cannned. Foamy pour like most sixpoints, hoppy floral aroma, light caramel taste. Ok.

Draft from GRNYBF. Pours a nice gold, nice aoma, pretty decent saison from sixpoint

Wow. The most coffee aroma beer I think ever especially for a lighter non porter or stout. Smell is espresso obviously. Colorationa murky pale copper. Taste is like a cold cup of coffee.

Apparently a very limited release from SixPoint, maybe they made this one special for Kettle of Fish? Who knows. Anyway, poured dull gold, sort of a corn/grain aroma, similar taste with some mildly earthy hops to finish that’s very quick. Kind of disappointing, a little too corny and just not a great balance.

I don’t know what it is with sixpoint but other than a few of their brews that I really like, like the Gorilla Warfare, there’s a strange flatness to a lot of their flavorings where one taste predominates over the rest and it almost comes off as off flavored.

Canned. Pours slightly dark gold with sizable head. Grass and hops. Some character.

draft from Fette Sau. Brownish copper, nice grassy taste. Some malts. Upstaged by the BBQ, but then I was at fette sau of course.

draft @ ginger. Poured dark but a disappointingly weak taste for a D-bock. Watery I thought. Sixpoint usually misses for me and this was no exception.

Draft at Waterfront. Poured dark. SOme sweetness. Not a lot of wheat. I could take it or leave it.

Draft. An ale with lots of hops and such going on. Drinkable I guess. Nothing else to say.
