330ml bottle in the middle of a frozen Prestvannet Lake, Tromso successfully catching the Northern Lights. Finally. Surprised to see some poor ratings for this. Drunk from the bottle I found it an enjoyable pale ale, hoppy in the right places with some bitter citrus and grassy moments. Perhaps not as cold, from a glass I may have a different impression, but I had no complaints here.

Big beige head. Clear still deep dark red body. Resiny fruity floral aroma with dusty caramel notes. Dryish dusty caramel and toffee taste with wooden notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy, fizzy mouthfeel. Some water taste. Dryish red fruit and chalky toast aftertaste with peppery notes. Chalky earthy slightly burnt flavour lingers. Parts of it are quite nice, but it has that fizzy peppery off flavour that some dark beers get. (0.33l bottle, from Gulating Strømmen.)

Shared bottle at Yule beer tasting on board Fridtjofen 09.12.16 and 10.12.16. Orange. Aroma of smoke and raw mash. Taste of raw mash and dried tropical fruits.

Bottle. An unclear, reddish orange beer with a dense, beige head. Yeasty aroma with some caramel and wet cardboard. Rather fruity, with a touch of alcohol. Pleasant mouthfeel, with a good body and a nice carbonation level. Yeasty flavor too, with caramel and some wet cardboard-like oxidation. Some dried fruits and a little alcohol warmth. Lasting finish. Not very pleasant this one. 161125

Aroma fruktig, karamell, liten tanke vanilje. Utseende uklar rødlig brun med offwhite skum. Smak karamell, malt, humle, frukt. Dette er en delvis fyldig øl med litt julestemning i, karamell i ettersmaken, lett bitterhet. Alt i alt en god øl Smakt Des 16

Bottled@AIH66 Beer Session (from Vinmonopolet Kirkenes). Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, spicy and some mild floral notes. Flavour is fruity, some spices, quite evident alcohol as well as some sweet malts.
