Description
In November of 2011, Mary Wolf, and her son Danny, renovated a 100 year old Nelson County schoolhouse into a restaurant, built an adjacent brewery, and began the story of Wild Wolf Brewing Company. Mary, a business-savvy entrepreneur, takes care of the business, and Danny, a formally educated Brewmaster, oversees production of an ever-expanding portfolio of award-winning ales and lagers. We now distribute cans, and kegs throughout the entire state of Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. Our current portfolio includes six year-round beers, over a dozen rotating and seasonal beers, and occasional single-batch creations.

We are located in the heart of Virginia’s Brew Ridge Trail, on Nelson County’s scenic Rt. 151, minutes from hiking trails, orchards, wineries, distilleries, and lodging. We’re very proud of our beautiful setting in little Nellysford, Virginia. Our dog-friendly shaded biergarten, with koi pond and fountain, is the perfect place to enjoy pints and lunch (weather permitting). Weather not so great? Check out the four-season pavilion!

Our on-site event center with fully equipped kitchen is ready to host your next private event in a beautiful rustic-chic space. Our Event Coordinator will help plan weddings, rehearsal dinners, special parties, and corporate events. With seating for up to 140, outdoor space in our beautiful courtyard, private bathrooms, and much more, our Event Center is the perfect place for a special day.

Draft at the Wild Wolf Brewpub. Poured a dark black color with a slightly tan off-white head. Aroma is some roasted malts with plenty of hops. Better than balanced - this one had a lot more hops than malts, leading to a better India Ale than most other Black IPA/IBAs. Nice carbonation. Quite an enjoyable brew.

Had a sample of this beer at the brewpub. Poured a dark black color with an almost wispy tan head. Aroma was some chocolate notes, coffee and plenty of alcohol in here. Roasted malt notes, with some coffee notes. Alcohol is pretty noticeable in this one.

Had this on draft as part of the sampler at the Wild Wolf brewpub. Poured a light golden yellow color with a large white head. Aroma was strong ginger notes. Flavor was also strong on the ginger notes, some spice and a touch of citrus. I would not suggest getting this if you don’t like ginger.

Served on draft at Beer Run. Pours a clear dark ruby color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toffee, caramel, herbal notes, toast and some earthiness. The taste is toasted malts, herbal notes, caramel, and a bitter hop finish. Thin bodied.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange-pink color with a thin creamy white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of tart berries and grainy malts. The taste is tart and sweet berries with faint bready malts. Medium bodied, too much fruit which leads to a building sweetness that is not welcome.
