Big offwhite head. Hazy amber body with visible particles. Roasty wooden rock sugar aroma with caramelly notes. Sweetish earthy caramelly syrupy taste with mealy fruity spicy notes. Mid-bodied. Bottle. It’s a clear one, except for some microfloaties. Brown in color and with a small, dense, beige head. The aroma is lightly roasted, with nuts and caramel. Roasted malts, a pleasant bitterness, caramel and nuts in the flavor. Some prunes and chocolate. It’s quite dry and with a pleasant carbonation level. Bitter, roasted finish with caramel and nuts. A quite pleasant one, although a bit too dry for a Christmas beer. 141220

Bottle. It’s a lightly unclear one, dark golden to amber in color and with some microfloaties. A dense, off-white head on top. Fruity, almost peachy aroma with some lightly roasted malts. Pale malts, some faintly roasted malts and a generic fruityness in the flavor. A touch of bitterness too. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Lasting lightly roasted finish with fruityness and a fine bitterness. Not much of a brown ale, but it’s a decent beer after all. 141220

500ml bottle, batch 58,59, bought at Meny Oslo City, carried back home and shared with Finn. Cloudy dark brown body with a reddish shade to it. Fawn-coloured head. Restrained aroma of spiced fruits. Nuts, dried fruits and herbs to the tastebuds. Mild bittersweet finish. Rather anonymous (Tromsø 168.12.2014).
