Tap at the brewpub. Pours ruddy dark amber with a 2 finger creamy off-white head. Aroma is somewhat roasted malt. About med body. Flavor is darkish roast malt with some mixed hop - tends a bit towards resin? or earthy? Or a touch nutty? No question it’s an amber. Certainly does not finish on the bitter side. Tasty, but a bit malty for me.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark gold with a slight white head. Aroma of light earth and light pitted fruits. There’s a touch of citrus, light Belgian yeast - with a hint of banana ester. Mildly earthy and fruity finish. Drinks nicely.

Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours hazy gold with a 3 finger creamy white head. Mixed aroma of peach, tripel and grass. Med body. Very hoppy - starts fruity goes strongly grassy. Hints sweet but finishes dry, a little astringent and bitter. This is great stuff.

Cask at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark black with a large beige head. The armoa is monstrously coffee. Smooth, mellow and soft. The coffee is not so dominant as it was in the aroma - there’s a little chocolate and malt is detectable. In the finish it’s bitter, but smooth, coffee all the way. Quite an experience.

Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe in Davis, CA. Pours dark but transparent brown with a very creamy whiteish beige head. Very light brown ale aroma. Not quite medium body. Very smooth mouthfeel. Light chocolate flavor. Faint, very faint, sour note. Lots of smoothly gritty dark malt. SESSIONABLE!

Tap at Sacramento Brewers Showcase. Labeled 39 IBU. Aroma is dark malt and rye. Med body. Flavor is rye, burnt malt, and floral/earthy hop (tho the rye may be suggesting the earthy). Very, very nice.

Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours hazy orange amber with a creamy off-white head. Some ring lacing with time. Citrus aroma. Med body. Flavor seems very citrus and clean over an interestingly roasted malt. Finishes nicely, very bitter with maybe a touch of unusual floral. Nice drink.
