12 oz can that was given to me as a Father’s Day gift. The pour is a slightly hazed orange golden with a well formed off white one inch head. The aroma is honey, herbal yeast, malt sweetness and grass. The taste is coriander, orange peel, zest, herbal, honey malt sweet and warming alcohol towards the back. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and a honey herbal longer finish that is warming with some alcohol.

11.2 oz bottle from a four pack with commemorative World Cup Tulip received for Father’s Day. The pour is a mostly clear golden copper with a one inch white head that falls rockily. Visible fine carbonation bubbles rise to the surface. The aroma is honey, herbal, clove and general malt sweetness. The taste is big on the malt, clean and fresh honey caramel malt, the herbal clove and finishes with even more malt sweetness. The palate is medium to heavier bodied, active carbonation and a sweet lingering finish. The alcohol was masked throughout the beer, which given the size of this beer, is impressive.

Visited early evening on a Thursday. Located at the end of Parkville main street, the shop incorporates the train car on the hill. Similar to the Crossroads location, this is a combination Coffee shop and Brewery taproom. As you climb the small hill to the shop, the railroad car is to your right, and there is additional seating in the building to the left. Order drinks at the front counter upon entering. Additional outdoor seating is available, with a nice view over Parkville. The beer selection is 8 house beers, 2 guest taps, all available as a 4 oz taster or full pour. In addition to a full coffee menu, there is also food, wine, cocktails and seltzers. Fun to sit in an old train car and enjoy a fresh beer. Service was friendly. Both locations are well worth a visit.

Willebecher draft at Rochester Brewing and Roasting Company in Parkville, Missouri. The pour is clear dark copper golden with a well formed one inch light tan head. The aroma is toasty caramel malt and a hint of grass. The taste is caramel malt, a touch of earth grass and gentle additional malt sweetness in the clean finish. The palate is light to medium bodied, active natural carbonation and the clean malt mineral finish. Nicely done.

16 oz can purchased at BKS Artisan Ales Brookside Tasting Room in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a cloudy golden yellow with a thick foamy white head that is very lasting. Eventually falls with splotchy lace. The aroma is peach mango fruit, a bit of peel bitterness and a general grassiness. The taste is the fruit of mango and peach, a lime citrus, soft bitterness and finishes dry with the grassiness. The palate is unfiltered, medium bodied, soft to low carbonation and a clean dry grassy finish. Nice one.
