RateBeer member 2009-2025, the latest years as admin. The BIG thing for me now is Brewver! I only rate venues, a (silly?) decision from back in 2009. But, don't worry, I drink a lot of beer too. 9K Norwegian beers in February 2026 and a total of 21K in February 2026. Cheers!

I visited this store first time back in 2018. Very good selection from Hogna, the brewery is about 20 minutes eastwards by car. Decent selection from Monkey Brew and Austmann too. (Visited August 8th 2026 with yngwie and NilsAS)

Just a ticker stop in the outskirts of Trondheim along the main road heading south. Meny grocery stores can sometimes offer a decent craft beer selection. This store has hardly anything of interest. Waste of time. (Visited August 8th 2026 with yngwie and NilsAS)

Trondheim's only Scottish Pub, located in the same stone building as Thon Hotel Nidaros; a fine Gothic architectural style dating back to 1908. This is a very nice bar but do not expect to find Scottish beers. But, the Whisky selection is amazing! This bar celebrated their 25 anniversary in 2024 and wanted a special beer for their celebration. Mack from Tromsø (!) said yes and brewed Macbeth Amber Lager. No this bar only offers draught beers from Mack. Not the best brewery in Norway in my opinion but the Mack beer selection in this bar is quite good. Actually strange to see so many beers from Mack in Trondheim! The barman this evening was super friendly and very talkative about their beer and he also recommended a whisky or two that we had to try. Mediocre beers, great whisky and top noch service. I enoyed my stay. When going downstairs to the mens room a sign reminded about something important: "Remember, you're wasting valuable drinking time!" When you leave the bar, you actually go through an English telephone box. (Visited August 6th 2026 with yngwie)

Nice to have an Austmann Tap Room in the very city center. Rather small bar, only one room. Varied seating and a nice place to enjoy a beer. This is the place to look out for beers from the monthly series; Tokt. Number 9 was on at our visit. (Visited August 6th 2026 with yngwie)

This is place for fine dining but there is also a small bar where you can drop in without reservation. The craft beer selection is rather poor; a house beer brewed by Færder. But, this is one of few places (2026) where you can find bottled cider from Villeplet. None of us had tried cider from this cidery, and the bottles are hard to find unless you visit the cidery. Very nice and attentive service. The bottle came in a champagne cooler with ice. We also had to try some quality liquor. (Visited August 5th 2026 with yngwie and NilsAS)
