Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a cloudy pinkish-rhubarb color with a thin pinkish-white head that burns away gradually to a film. Sticky strings of lace. Aroma of raspberry, wheat, strawberry and malt. Light-bodied with a sweet-tart blend of berries and guava, along with some floral wheat and doughy malt. The finish is tart with a raspberry aftertaste. Above average overall.

Sample at Derive. The beer is a hazy orange color with a thin ivory white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lace on the glass. The aroma consists of herbal hops, tropical fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hop, grapefruit, pineapple and bready malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Above average overall.

Station 2 is located in downtown Richmond on E Main Street between 21st and 22nd Streets. Lots of street parking in the surrounding blocks but I imagine finding a spot can be tough during peak hours.

As the name implies, the restaurant is in a former firehouse, and the exterior retains the look and feel. There is a gray and red color scheme with a large arch on the front of the building. There is also a small patio for outdoor seating.

The interior is a large open space, and well-lit due to all of the large windows. Wooden floors and metal support columns give the place an industrial look, with high top tables across the dining area and a wooden bar. There is a large stylized "2" on one of the walls.

The beer selection consists of around 12 taps, featuring regional craft breweries like Three Notch'd, Center Of The Universe, Strangeways and Isley. Flights are available as well.

Service on a weekday lunch was good. The server was attentive and knowledgeable about the available beers.

Food on my visit was good. The menu consists primarily of burgers, plus salads and "not burgers" items.

Overall this is a nice restaurant to visit in Richmond that features some worthwhile beers.
