Can from Against The Grain. Hazy amber body with a thick beige head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of raspberry and toffee. Flavour of fig, pine and caramel. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. This is lovely - a clean and well balanced red IPA. An excellent tribute to Sierra Nevada’s Celebration Ale. I’d like to try them side by side. (Update - Three days after the first review, I did a side-by-side tasting. For me, both beers are equals. Celebration Ale is easy to drink and well rounded; Donzoko’s beer has greater bitterness.)

Bottle, gift from Pam. Clear golden body with a white head. Fine carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of steel and minerals. Flavour of grass and tinny finish. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Attractive bottle design… but clear glass is a big no. The beer itself isn’t great - it’s a bit skunky.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy golden body with an off-white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of orange, grapefruit and icing sugar. Flavour of orange and golden syrup. Medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. This drinks very well for the strength, there’s barely a flicker of booze. It’s very good but a little one-dimensional - I got orangey sweetness and not much else.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Murky golden/bronze body with a white head that holds well. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of mango, green banana and spring onion. Flavour of orange pith and green banana. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. An easy drinking beer for such a high ABV.

Flavour of brown sugar, orange and toffee apple. Medium body with a smooth texture. Light fizz. Tasty and hoppy. I wish hoppy brown beers were more common.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Milky golden body with a white head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of peach, pine and vine tomatoes. Flavour of lime and peach. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Limey and delicious.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Milky golden body with a white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of pineapple and clementine. Flavour of lime, orange and sponge cake. Medium to full body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Sweet and punchy. Very good.

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Amber body with a faint haze and an off-white head. The final pour brings a few chunks. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of dried grass and stewed tea. Flavour of orange rind and lemon sherbet. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Very fizzy. I wanted to love this as I love Torrside’s strong beers, but I found it quite grassy and overcarbonated.
