Can at home from Waitrose in King's Cross. Already had a strong Belgian so this was an easy move. This is a grown up Imperial stout, none of that pastry and sweetened rubbish added to keep the kids happy. Huge and rich dark malt with a glorious belt of coffee. I actually had this at the end of dinner instead of a coffee and it worked perfectly.

Bottle at home from a Lidl bumper fun bundle. Opened on a Saturday night having dropped middle child to a house party and all my driving was finished. Luckily the oldest agreed to pick her up. Anyway, great pour and aroma and taste and mouthfeel. This is just really good and the extreme alcohol was very well hidden.

Cask at the Radcliffe Arms in Hitchin during an evening with a good friend. We ended up doing 4 alongside a very good wood fired pizza and as well as a good catch up we arranged to see Al Murray in the New Year.

Bottle at home. Probably a mistake but it seemed like a good idea at the time. Good pour with a huge nose of yeast. And a huge taste of it too! Ok.

Can at home when I was supposed to be having a dry night. But it turned out the neighbours were coming round so this became the first stage of the wheels well and truly coming off. Good pour and tasty. But, it tastes like a good imitation of a best bitter.

Can at home. Nice light summer beer. It won't set the world on fire, but perfectly pleasant.

Bottle in a random wine bar in Oxford. Long story but as I was driving it had to be AF. The first bottle was OK as a pilsner on a hot day, but the second made my mouth go funny.

Can at home - I think from Tesco. Anyway, probably a bit early for a beer like this, but oh well. Long day, dry day yesterday so it was allowed. Anyway, everything you would expect from an English DIPA. Real length to some well balanced hops.

Bottle at home from the brewery. A great example of a classic English bitter. Very well balanced beer with malt and bitter hops in harmony.
