Can - hazy dark orange - heavy alcohol burn on this one, but it is melded into the hop bitterness and peppery bite a bit, so it does not feel boozy - lots of citrus, moderate spiciness, but also a fair amount of cattiness - lingering spiciness - fairly sweet - okay.

Can - just labeled as “imperial ipa” - we have officially hit the point where hazy ipa is the default and you do not have to advertise them as such - anyway, this is a pretty decent one - there are interesting flavors of coconut, pepper, citrus, herbal/minty notes - alcohol bites a little in this one - a little more bitterness than expected for the style, which is fine with me - good.

Can from my local Whole Foods - turbid gold with a thick, well-sustained head - creamy texture, soft mouthfeel, medium body - semi-dry, with a ton of mosaic character and bright citra, but minimal bitterness - just lots of the hop character - there is and herbal and peppery bitterness on the back end that is quite pleasant - a little watery on the back end, but nicely drying and tangy - it’s good.

Can - cloudy orange with a large, well-sustained head - this beer is rustic AF - lots of earthy graininess complimented well by peppery yeast character, light fruity esters - back end is nicely bitter - a lot of yeastiness muddles what should be a stellar beer - this just makes it merely good.

Can - hazy orange - thick, soapy head - medium dry and quite resinous for the style - some sweeter notes of orange jam - finish is more bitter, but also a little water - it's okay.

Can - Gotta admit that I have been impressed with Grimm's take on this style - like the others I've had, it is more dry and bitter than you'd expect with the style, tracking more like a traditional IIPA than a hazy while still being distinctly hazy, if that makes any sense at all - lot of citrus, grass, spiciness - finish comes off a little watery and a touch catty, but otherwise another solid one.

Was really hoping this would be smokier than it is, as the description led me to expect more - mostly tastes like artificial s’mores flavoring with a wee bit of saltiness and some unsweetened gingerbread - I mean, it’s fine, but overall tastes artificially flavored and a bit weak for what it purports to be.

Can from Outpost, RVA - super milky pour, even for the style - very thick head - nicely spicy mosaic character - lots of peach and mango, but with balancing bitterness not always present in the style - pilllowy mouthfeel - not overly sweet - pretty dang good.
