Grew up in England and developed a taste for English ales. Traveled a lot to Belgium and surrounding countries and grew to appreciate these European styles. Traveled to USA a fair bit, starting in the dark days when it was a beer desert, and then enjoying the flourishing microbrewery scene. Moved in 1994 to Australia which was then a beer desert, so grew to appreciate the excellent Aussie wines and my own homebrew. Now there is a flourishing microbrewery scene in Aus, which is great. I travel a lot to Asia, which was generally grim for beer, although with some interesting pockets of excellence there if you looked hard; but now several countries have good craft beers. I was a RateBeerian for 18 years (Oct 2007 until its demise in 2025), with username Pyobon.

(Can) Pours slightly hazy amber with good head. Nice aroma of citrus with caramel notes. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Good taste too, with hops all the way. Herbal and pleasantly bitter. Hints of caramel and citrus. Longish moderately bitter finish. Very good.

(Can) Pours very slightly hazy golden amber with good white head. Pleasant herbal aroma, with fruity notes. Medium body with good full carbonation. Good taste too. Dominated, in a good way, by the hops, there’s herbal flavours from start to moderately bitter finish. There’s some pleasant biscuit malt in the background, and a brief note of citrus at the start. Very nice.

(Can) Pours hazy amber with good white head very pleasant aroma. Plenty of orangey citrus, some biscuity malt. Medium body with plenty of fine carbonation. Taste has plenty of hops. Some pleasant citrus notes at the start are quickly replaced with herbal ones that steadily grow to a nice hoppy bitter finish. There’s hints of biscuit malt. Very good.

(Can) Pours clear pale gold with big white head. Aroma has notes of bready malt and grass. Light body with fine bright carbonation. Herbal hops. Bready malt. Reasonable bitter in finish. It’s a bit different and definitely drinkable.

(Can) Pours hazy amber with small white head. Lovely aroma of tropical fruit and citrus with pine notes. Medium bodied with plenty of fine soft carbonation giving a soft mouthfeel. Great taste driven by hops. Tropical fruit and citrus up front, but quickly joined by herbal hoppy bitterness. Some hints of biscuit malt in the mid palate. Long moderately bitter finish. Enjoyable.

(Can) Pours opaque murky pinkish brown with the tiniest white head. Aroma is predominantly berries, there are strawberry and raspberry notes (I have no idea what a bayberry smells or tastes like). Thick with the feel of slightly diluted fruit juice with lovely fine carbonation. The taste is also very much berries. There’s some pleasant tartness, too much sweetness, and some interesting herbal notes, somewhat reminiscent of green tea. Enjoyable drink, if a little too sweet.
