Grew up in England and developed a taste for English ales. Traveled a lot to Belgium and surrounding countries and grew to appreciate these European styles. Traveled to USA a fair bit, starting in the dark days when it was a beer desert, and then enjoying the flourishing microbrewery scene. Moved in 1994 to Australia which was then a beer desert, so grew to appreciate the excellent Aussie wines and my own homebrew. Now there is a flourishing microbrewery scene in Aus, which is great. I travel a lot to Asia, which was generally grim for beer, although with some interesting pockets of excellence there if you looked hard; but now several countries have good craft beers. I was a RateBeerian for 18 years (Oct 2007 until its demise in 2025), with username Pyobon.

(Can) Pours hazy red orange with very short-lived white head. Pleasant fruity aroma - raspberry jam and citrus. Medium body with fine bright carbonation. Pleasantly tart, and nicely fruity - raspberry, citrus and more. A lot of interesting fruitiness but not a lot more. Very enjoyable.

(Can) Pours black with good tan head. Lovely aroma of chocolate and biscuit with hints of coconut. Full bodied smooth with fine carbonation giving a very nice mouthfeel. Excellent rich taste. There’s a toffee sweetness pretty much through the palate. Chocolate and biscuit are major flavours with the chocolate extending through the palate, and the biscuit fading away towards the end. There’s a bit of dark fruit, maybe cherry, at the start, along with some coconut hints. There’s no alcohol burn but you know there’s more than the usual booze in it. Very enjoyable.

(Can) Pours clear pale amber with good white head. Pleasant aroma with notes of stone fruit, citrus and pine. Good mouthfeel. Medium body with plenty of soft mouth filling carbonation. Good taste too. Tangy fruity start. Hints of caramel malt in the middle and some very pleasant peppery hoppy bitterness at the end. Very good.

Clear very pale. Subtle slightly fruity aroma. Smooth quite light body. Subtle fruity notes at start developing some restrained umami notes later.
