Grew up in England and developed a taste for English ales. Traveled a lot to Belgium and surrounding countries and grew to appreciate these European styles. Traveled to USA a fair bit, starting in the dark days when it was a beer desert, and then enjoying the flourishing microbrewery scene. Moved in 1994 to Australia which was then a beer desert, so grew to appreciate the excellent Aussie wines and my own homebrew. Now there is a flourishing microbrewery scene in Aus, which is great. I travel a lot to Asia, which was generally grim for beer, although with some interesting pockets of excellence there if you looked hard; but now several countries have good craft beers. I was a RateBeerian for 18 years (Oct 2007 until its demise in 2025), with username Pyobon.

(Can) Pours slightly hazy golden with big white head that fades fast. Nice fresh fruity aroma; mainly stone-fruit. Light body with good carbonation. Taste is fruity and refreshing, and quite tart. Stone-fruit and lime. Some hints of biscuit malt. No noticeable bitterness. Crisp and refreshing.

(Can) Pours very hazy milky golden with small white head. Pleasant fruity aroma. Hard to distinguish, but generally tropical. Full bodied and grainy, slightly creamy, with good carbonation. Good taste. Fruity and creamy with some pleasant bitterness in the finish. Very enjoyable.

(Can) Great looking beer - black with a good tan head. Aroma of dark roast malt, dried fruit, whiskey. Great texture. Full bodied, smooth and creamy with very fine carbonation. Great taste too. Dark roast malt. Dried fruit, Shery notes up front. Plenty of chocolate joins from the mid palate. Notes of coffee too. A boozy whiskey warmth steadily grows through the palate. Very enjoyable.

(Can) Good looking beer. Pours black with big tan head. Aroma of dark roast malt with notes of coffee and woody meaty hints. Medium body, well carbonated. Dark roast malt with burnt sugar notes. Smoky notes too. Chocolate and coffee. Liquorice notes. Hints of stone fruit. Hmm, I find this confusing. It’s certainly unusual and interesting. But I think the smoky sharp flavours (molasses I assume) are a bit too aggressive.

(Can) Pours hazy pale gold with small white head. Good aroma with nice citrus notes. Medium body with bright carbonation. Pleasant taste. Nice citrus flavours pretty much dominate some very restrained bitterness in the finish. Hints of biscuit malt. Very quaffable.
