Grew up in England and developed a taste for English ales. Traveled a lot to Belgium and surrounding countries and grew to appreciate these European styles. Traveled to USA a fair bit, starting in the dark days when it was a beer desert, and then enjoying the flourishing microbrewery scene. Moved in 1994 to Australia which was then a beer desert, so grew to appreciate the excellent Aussie wines and my own homebrew. Now there is a flourishing microbrewery scene in Aus, which is great. I travel a lot to Asia, which was generally grim for beer, although with some interesting pockets of excellence there if you looked hard; but now several countries have good craft beers. I was a RateBeerian for 18 years (Oct 2007 until its demise in 2025), with username Pyobon.

(Can) Pours hazy pale gold with big white head. Amazing aroma. Very fruity with grapefruit and guava and orange. And hints of maybe tobacco. Medium body with plenty of nice soft carbonation. Taste has plenty of fruit up front. There’s peppery spice and some medicinal hints. Some pleasant bitterness in the finish. Unusual and enjoyable.

On the Australian Technology Park in an historic building. Indoor seating in cool space and outdoor seating. Very busy but pleasant vibe and service pretty fast given number of customers, and very helpful. Maybe 20 beers, mostly their own with a few guest beers. The three I tried were all good with one quite out there. Had several slices of different pizzas (I was with a big group) and they were good. Nice place to go but probably best with a group.

(On tap) Hazy straw with small white head. Spicy peppery aroma. Medium body with good bright carbonation. Great taste. Pepper spice and chili dominate with mango citrus and light malt. Very enjoyable.

(Bottle) pours clear golden with big white head. Nice aroma of apples with barnyard and funky notes. Great mouthfeel. Medium bodied with plenty of lively carbonation. Great taste too. Apples, of course. Tart compared to mainstream ciders, but not for a proper cider. Gently tart with some hints of fruity sweetness. Very good.

(Can) Pours cloudy orange red with tiniest white head. Distinctly tropical fruit aroma. I can’t detect passionfruit, but there’s some sweet and aromatic aromas. Medium body with fine bright carbonation. Taste is nicely sour and fruity. I taste citrus and maybe papaya, but I don’t know what dragonfruit tastes like. Tart, refreshing and unusual.
