16 oz can acquire from Half Time Beverage in NY. I will match it up with a snifter I got from now-departed Buffalo Bayou Brewing. The pour is a murky orange-gold body finished with a proper head of fully white foam. I get a pleasant scent from the brew. Oranges, a bare hint of hops and the same with tropical fruit. The taste is truly NE style, orange juice, grain, pineapple, straw and a touch of bitterness at the finish. This seems a return to the early days of the New England style, rather sweet and not a lot of depth. An inoffensive brew.

I got this 16 oz can at the Total Wine on Hulen St in Ft Worth about a month and a half ago. Great Heights tulip glass ready to receive, I open the can and tilt into the glass. I see tons of carbonation through the clear yellow-gold body topped by a heroic head of pillowy arctic white foam. The scent is rather nice for a beer in the style that I am not wild about. Yellow fruit, some tropical, a bit of hops and grain, I call this a good start. The taste follows, nice enough. Guava, apricots, crackers, an oak influence and more of the hops. Some sweetness but I get more bitterness. The oak provides a nice focus over the standard. Better than average for a hazy IPA.

I have a 22 oz bomber picked up at a Trader Joe’s in Dallas about 2.5 years ago, one of my few big bottles remaining. It is opened and going into a Cowtown snifter. I see a mahogany body finished by a strong head of dark khaki foam that quickly settles. The scent is chocolate fudge, scorched grain and a hint of vanilla. The taste is, I have to say, surprisingly good. Cocoa powder, chocolate cake, licorice, toasted malts and just maybe a bit of black plums. Moderately sweet and there is a slight bitterness offset. The alcohol is completely covered. I recall this beer being a bargain when purchased, doubt I’ll ever see one again. Unfortunate.

I have another 16 oz can from Half Time, acquired a few months ago, this time a hazy imperial IPA. Ready to go with a globe glass, I tilt the can inside. The appearance is a darker hazy gold with a proper head of unquestionably white foam. I smell lots of yellow fruit, tropical and some citrus. The taste follows the scent closely with mangoes, limes, white bread, a touch of pineapple and field. More sweet than bitter but there is a small unexpected bitterness in any case. I get a creamy sensation. A decent beer in the range of the style, no real breakout.
