Description
Meandering Bear is a new proudly independent bar which opened in Halifax in September 2019 . It’s from the folks behind the award winning Grayston Unity.
The bar is located close to the Piece Hall/Square Chapel & Westgate Arcade. It offers a great range of cask & keg ales & lagers, cocktails and spirits. Food too with meat/cheese boards, toasted sandwiches and generally food to go with drinks in an informal setting. Many of our suppliers are from Calderdale so local produce is often be used.
The name comes from the true story of when Halifax had a zoo, yes really! in Siddal just before WW1. One day a bear managed to escape, meander around a bit before finally being returned to the zoo.
