Established in 1308, The Black Bear in Tewkesbury is the oldest pub in Gloucestershire.
Formerly known as "Ye Olde Black Bear"
In 2011 it was part of the Original Pub Company chain.
In 2015 Greene King took over the pub.
In 2017 Graham and Luke Haynes purchased the pub, and spent over a year consulting local historians, town planners and architects before finalising refurbishment plans. The Covid-19 pandemic halted progress considerably but the pub finally re-opened (as Black Bear) in June 2023.
