Description
History runs deep at Ye Three Lords, and you’ll feel it as soon as you walk through the door. The present building dates from around 1890, but there’s a long tradition of a public house on this site with local accounts suggesting ale may have been served here as far back as the 16th century.

Named after the last three Jacobite lords executed at the nearby Tower of London were William Boyd, 4th Earl of Kilmarnock, Arthur Elphinstone, 6th Lord Balmerino, and Simon Fraser, 11th Lord Lovat, all following the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion; Kilmarnock and Balmerino were beheaded together in August 1746, while the elderly Lord Lovat was the very last person publicly beheaded in Britain, in April 1747, marking the end of the tradition of aristocratic beheadings at Tower Hill. Tradition holds that Kilmarnock and Balmerino spent their final night at the inn that once stood on this site before being led to Tower Hill to meet their fate.

Located in the heart of Aldgate, Ye Three Lords is a historic pub pouring award-winning beer brewed at our North Finchley brew pub.
