Originally designed as part of a project at Lewis & Clark College in a course taught by our brewmaster, Kids These Haze is a beery tribute to the soft and aromatic IPAs that have taken the beer world by storm.

We’re not kidding when we say that this beer was inspired by a new generation of brewers– the students in this class were tender, young at ages 22 and 23. How could they know how to put together the skeleton of a great beer? Good ques- tion– they may be young, but they’re also the first cohort of new brewers to have grown up with great craft beer, and they know what they like: juicy, tropical, and punchy hops. In this case, we’ve paired together a crowd pleaser like Mosaic with Amarillo that screams of orange sherbert and pineapple-drenched Eldorado hops.

Brewed in small batches and released in limited quantity just for three months of the year, this beer will be extremely fresh until it quickly disappears.

Hops: Mosaic, Eldorado, Amarillo

Malt: Two Row, Maris Otter, Wheat, Light

Creamy cloudy orange pour, some white foam on the top. Light apple nose, fruity and soft tropical character. Chalk. Taste is fresh as fuck, herbal and fruity, abv feels on the lower side (although really its not), medium bitterness. Nice and quite sessionable hazy IPA.

Draft at the Plaining Mill in Visalia. Hazy yellow-orange with full white head that lingers. Aroma is overt orange and melon. Flavor follows in line with aroma but is more reserved.

Bomber from Boise Co-op. Hazy, pale golden, small bubbly head. Aroma is grapefruit peel, lemon, light pine notes. Taste brings soft citrus flavors, gentle tart, bitter notes. More like a citrusy APA.

Hazy medium amber with a small slow fading white head leaving patchy lace. Nose is bright citrus and tropical fruit with prominent floral notes. Light crisp malt under a medium bitterness of grapefruit, lime and passion fruit. Mouth is medium slick with average carbonation and a long bitter finish. 8/3+/7+/4/15+

Bottle - Grapefruit and lemon. Clear gold with a decent white head. Fruity citrus with a leafy hop finish. Not very hazy or juicy.

Bomber poured. A thick appearance, juicy orange pour. Flavor has a sweet side to it. A vanilla like cream. Aroma is a bit of a bitter impression, not exactly matching the smooth and juicy flavor. An overall pleasant IPA here, and not typical for the style in my opinion. Good stuff.

On tap. Pours a dark hazy amber with light head. Aromas of pineapple, mango and dull bready malts. Flavors follow same with additional pomegranate and lemon. Good, not overly hazy (a good thing) but so much like a lot of other offerings this is really a house beer.

Bomber. Pours hazy golden with a one finger off-white head that leaves splotchy Rorschach patterns of lace. Tastes of passionfruit, pineapple, seedy berry jam, grain. Mild bitterness. It's a little blander than the most juicy, fruity IPAs out there, but it still tastes good.
