Our “San Diego Pale Ale.” Hop-driven from two key hops: citrus and pine from the wonderful and classic American Cascade, paired perfectly with the bright fruit and dankness of Australian Galaxy. With moderate bitterness and just enough malt backbone to elevate the hops, this Pale Ale is super-refreshing.
When it came to creating Ripper, we drew inspiration from the coastal surf cultures of SoCal and Oz. Sourcing classic Cascade from the Pacific Northwest and Australian Galaxy hops from…yes…Australia, we made a beer both lovers of frothy peaks and hoppy green buds will be stoked about. At the same time, we stayed true to our San Diego roots by pushing the hop boundaries of this style. While some might think it lingers on an edge far closer to an IPA, with all the dry-hop flavor and aroma, it’s actually right in line with the current-day interpretation of a West Coast pale. Ours just so happens to have an Aussie accent that’s cascading with a juicy amount of grapefruit and passion fruit hoppiness. So veg out or venture out. Either way, rip one open and taste this awesome golden nectar!

Clear caramel color with a fine off white head. Nice lacing. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium (+) body and a fine carbonation level. Ok balanced sweetness and bitterness. Ok lasting tail. Caramel malty, fruity, resinous, pine and citric hoppy flavor.

can, rated last Janunary give or take a month - Amber pour. The hop led aroma has citrus and tropical fruit notes. The flavor is fruity, crisp, and bitter. The blurb on the can is right that some people will think it's more of an IPA. It's pretty good, whatever you call it.

Keg at The Exmouth Arms. It pours clear amber with a decent white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, oily, resin, bread, biscuit, oily citrus, brown bread and toffee. The taste is dry, bitter, pine, resinous, earthy, oily, pithy, zesty grapefruit rind, peppery spice, touch of soap and a touch of alcohol with a spicy finish. Medium body, average carbonation and oily mouth - feel. Fine enough, but was expecting more.

33cl can from Uba ja Humal, Tallinn. Pours slightly hazy amber with a moderate, off-white head. Rather malty aroma with with caramel, ripe fruits and just a hint of citrus and herbs. Medium sweet with lower flavour intensity than expected and a fairly light bitterness to. Fair enough.
