Our “San Diego Pale Ale.” Hop-driven from two key hops: citrus and pine from the wonderful and classic American Cascade, paired perfectly with the bright fruit and dankness of Australian Galaxy. With moderate bitterness and just enough malt backbone to elevate the hops, this Pale Ale is super-refreshing.
When it came to creating Ripper, we drew inspiration from the coastal surf cultures of SoCal and Oz. Sourcing classic Cascade from the Pacific Northwest and Australian Galaxy hops from…yes…Australia, we made a beer both lovers of frothy peaks and hoppy green buds will be stoked about. At the same time, we stayed true to our San Diego roots by pushing the hop boundaries of this style. While some might think it lingers on an edge far closer to an IPA, with all the dry-hop flavor and aroma, it’s actually right in line with the current-day interpretation of a West Coast pale. Ours just so happens to have an Aussie accent that’s cascading with a juicy amount of grapefruit and passion fruit hoppiness. So veg out or venture out. Either way, rip one open and taste this awesome golden nectar!

(Can) Pours hazy amber brown with big dense white head. Lovely fruity aroma - mango, pine, stone fruit, orange peel - with hints of caramel and biscuit. Medium body with soft mouth filing carbonation. Nice fruity start with toffee in the background. Taste falls away in the mid palate to be replaced with a pleasant gathering bitterness. Very drinkable.

12 oz. can. Thanks, Tim! Pours a clear, orangish, yellow color, with a big, frothy, off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is grapefruit peel and pine sap, with some straw and dried apricots. Not too sweet, with an assertive bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a crisp, sticky, and harsh mouthfeel. This is a very aggressive pale ale, but it has lovely aromatic, and is nicely dry.

Amber. Aroma is star fruit, some fruity esters, lots of kräuterbonbon, mandarin, bread, melisse. Taste is very bitter and oily pine cone. Some bandaid actually. Id rather smell it than drink it.

Tap, Stone Berlin. Dry ensilage green grass, medium light body, light caramel, dry grassy finish. 7 4 5 2 11 US can. Gusher! Cloudy amber, amber lace. Moppy orangepeel, yuzu, a hint phenolic. Light body, mellow, lightly watery. Slightly painstripperish, yeast, bandaid, iodine, citrus. Something went wrong here.

Can. Tesco. Bit of a dull looking, medium amber colour. Dirty white froth. Nose is a pretty muted, medicinal pine and earthy hop affair. Taste is earthy, piny bitter. Medium body. Fairly oily. Long, earthy bitter finish.
