This amber is an exquisite example of the historic abbey libation. An addition of rye malt gives a slight bite to the malt sweetness.

On tap at HopCat Livonia (though labeled as "King Elder" at HopCat). Pours a hazy copper with a white head. Aroma is... freezer burn? I think that's the rye. Light dark fruit. Flavor is kind of odd, rye I guess (again a little freezer burn-like), yeasty, red grape. It's interesting, but I'm just not a fan.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of fruit and dates with light flora and a touch of caramel. Flavor has dates and caramel with some light fruits and a slightly thin finish.
