Big and black on tap at the brewpub. Smells like coffee. Has a baltic kick to it fer sher. Makes me think of that coffee my grampa used to drink when he put a shot in it. Yes, cold strong black coffee all the way. Not bad, thanks. Pretty good for a high alky brew, actually hides the alky well even tho it has some baltic attributes.

Pint on tap at the brewery. Appearance is opaque black with no discernible sparkle, finger-width, foamy beige head with excellent retention and lacing. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt. Taste is as aroma with hint of chocolate. Palate is medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and dry, earthy bitterness to finish along with taste. Overall, the flavor is strong without being overwhelming. Nice.

Sample taster at the source. Aroma is moderate roasted grain,coffee, dusty chocolate. Flavor mild coffee, ashy cocoa, mild earth. Body is medium, texture is bone dry. There is a very capable recipe here. Something about the coffee that just didn't sit quite right for me. Still drinkable.

Sample at the source. Dark brown/black in color with a creamy tan head. Rich coffee atop a restrained roasty chocolate malt beverage with hints of dark pitted fruits and earthy hops to counter. Very tasty I would have liked to sip a glass of this if I had a bit more time.
