Pours hazy orange with a smooth white head. Aroma of tartish fruits, orange peel, grapefruit and citrus. Taste is floral with loads of orange peel, grapefruit, spices and fruity hops. Finish is smooth, spicy and grapefruity with some tartish juicy orange peel. Quite funky pale ale.

Aroma: The aroma is yeast and spice, kind of peppery, with some hay, and grass
Appearance: It pours a hazy golden color with a nice white head atop it
Flavor: The taste is yeasty and lightly funky, plenty of spice, and a nice, light balancing hop
Palate: Light-medium body, clean and drinkable, with plus carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a tasty Saison. It made for a nice example if the style, and drank very nicely. I enjoyed it.

Without being able to say specifically why, this is just very good. Hoppy with a nice malt integration. Pours cloudy pale orange without much head or lacing. Medium bitter finish. Some citrus and pine in the flavour. Average carbonation. Tap at Novare Res.

On tap at Buck’s Naked BBQ (Freeport, ME): hazy golden body with a half finger white foamy head immediately dies and leaves no lacing, aroma is spicy sweet with some pepper, coriander, and slight earthy yeastiness up front, slight malts in the background, taste is spicy sweet through previously mentioned flavors, palate is sharp most likely through the peppery/coriander but the carbonation is moderate, fairy sessionable, overall, is this a combination of an American Pale Ale and a saison, if so, I absolutely love it and never thought any brewery in this entire world could pull that off? Kudos to Oxbow if this is what they tried to do, if not, hey I like this one a lot.

On draft at Churchkey DC on innauguration night. Pours a hazy pale gold with an off white head. Aroma of bread dough. Tart citrus notes. Crisp bitter finish.

This didn’t quite fit under the regular Farmhouse, or the barrel aged version. A special cask at Churchkey. Murky pale yellow color, scant white edge head. Aroma of vanilla, pine, citrus. Taste is sour and dusty straw and lemon. The oak chips added an earthiness and maybe some bretty characteristics. Not bad.Earlier Rating: 2/24/2012 Total Score: 3.2Draft at Smoke and Barrel.
