Creamy, toffee aromas balance the bitterness of Munich malts in our roasted brown lager. Although dark in color, Dunkel is medium in body and finishes dry and clean, resulting in a rich lager that can be enjoyed throughout the year.

12 oz. bottle purchased at Prost, North Hampton, NH. Deep ruby or brown type color, thin tan head. Aroma is rich with Munich malt showing, chocolate hints, burnt sugar, dried fall leaves. Earthy
The flavor has a bready character with the same earthy malts that are found in the aroma. Sweetness balance by some spicy hop bitterness. The body is decent for a lager yet leans on the lighter side. Overall for the style it is pretty correct.

Pours a dark brown from a bottle. Not picking up on much aroma or flavor. I do have a cold but I was able to pick up on notes rather easily for other beers I’ve had tonight. Rather insipid.

Pours cola into a shaker. Off white head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Mild caramel aromas. Medium bodied with dark caramel and earthy hops turning to mild cocoa in the medium length finish.

This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a slight hazy burnt brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light messy lacing sticking and then sliding down into the beer.
The smell started off with a sharp sweet breadiness rolling over some nutty malts. Lager yeast shows a nice sweet effect.
The taste was mainly sweet with a slight smokey effect rolling over in flavor. A slight roasty to sweet aftertaste rolls into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly smooth with a decent sharp nuttiness hitting my tongue.
Overall, as a Munich Dunkel, it works. I’d have again and it could definitely be a decent food beer. Maybe closer to dessert.

A dark brown dunkel with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet dark fruity malt with light grassy German hops, molasses, very nice. In mouth, a smooth fruity malt with dark fruits, fruity esters, light molasses, nice. On tap at brewery.

Tap: Poured a clear dark brown color lager with a small dark foamy head with average retention. Aroma of chocolate malt notes is very nice with light dry notes also noticeable. Taste is also dominated by chocolate malt notes with light dry roasted malt notes and light caramel. Body is somewhat thing with average carbonation. Nice level of complexity with great drinkability factor.
