The second and most limited of our #DSNTEN Specialty Rye single-brand releases comes from just one remarkable cask of Woodford Reserve Rye. Again, this is a sliver of the same #DarkstarNovember 2023 base, aged only in this single cask.
You’ll find delicate brown sugar and soft white flower aromatics with a striking black tea character on the palate. The body of this liquid is a silky and soft point of uniqueness, particularly in relation to the elevated perception of spirit. At 13.82% ABV, this cask clocks the lowest comparative ABV (DSN Rye #1 is 14.75% and DSN #3 is 14.04%), but expresses the might of the Woodford’s 90.4º proof in a powerful way.

Bottled, enormous thanks Fil for sharing with Ryan and me! Pitch black body, off-white head. Huge aroma, malty, oxidized heavily, carob and some vanilla. Lean, sweet, heavily bitter taste, big notes of carob, light vanilla... hooh, just too aggressive here. Didn't feel it aged particularly gracefully I'm afraid. Shame.
