Glass at Fontainas. Hazy golden with white head. Sour grain, hay, apricot, grapes, walnuts, ashtray, rusty nails. Moderate sweet, sour and bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation.

Tap at ML Fontainas. Hazy dark golden with white head. Funk, some walnut vin jaune notes with the oxidization nicely present, light apricot, vanilla, soft lemon, light minerals. Medium sour, light bitter and sweet. Medium bodied with nice soft sparkly carbonation. Good stuff!

Pours unclear, warmer blonde, small to medium, stable white head. Smell is full-on lambic, funk, some minor oxidative notes from the Vin Jaune Barrel. Taste is full, sharp, lambic, walnuts. Still quite some character from the barrel. The lambic gets far more playground here ( compared to the original la vie est belge ) . Very good beer, no doubt about it, but a shine to what the vie est belge is.

draft @ Vini, Birre, Ribelli 2017. Dorée, léger orange paille, col fin blanc. Arôme au bouquet funk assez typique de Cantillon, touche de vin jaune assez présente malgré le deuxième usage de la barrique. Rétro fin de citronné, fleur séchées avec un effet caramélisé / noix liquoreux. Palais reprend bien l'assemblage des lambics avec un effet barrique de vin jaune plaisant ... proche de la Vue est Belge mais sans l'arrière goût adouci. Pointe de funk avec un léger caractère d’agrumes.

9 3 9 4 17 Draft at Vini Biere Rebelli '17. Hazy golden with an off white head. Aroma is nutty with wood barrel notes, light funk and fruity notes. Flavour is light sweet and sour with light moderate bitterness. Medium bodied with very soft carbonation. Lovely, but not up to the perfection of La vie est Belgie.

Thanks for sharing Kraddel. Sampled draft @ Vini, Birre, Ribelli 2017. Hazy orange golden, small white head, starts out bigger but quickly gets there. You get Vin Jaune in the nose, walnut, oak, almost spice. Tase is milky yoghurt upfront, hazy, wheat, bread, almost bit sweet, Vin Jaune in the finish, walnuts, oak, sweet white wine lingering a bit. Thick yoghurt almost body. Very nice but not astonishing La Vie est Belge fore me, second use of barrels shows, you need to look a bit for the Vin Jaune, both parts are not fully integrated. Great stuff all the same just not epic like I hoped. Very lovely all the same.
