On tap at the Clyborn location. Pours near black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of a strong coffee with underlying roasted malts and dark grains. Flavor begins with pear and calvados, but the are quickly overwhelmed by a roasty coffee note and a bit of roasted malts.

Enjoyed on tap at Goose Island Stout Fest 2012 in Chicago, IL. Appearance is pitch black, moderate consistency, thin off white head. Aroma of very very strong dark coffee, smoky, rich, vanilla notes, really really potent stuff but smells fantastic. Taste is just coffee, I posed the question - is there any beer in here? Its still good, mainly chocolate and coffee though, felt the vanilla/pear notes were dominated by coffee. I like what they did with aging with different ingredients, and maybe I’d try again without drinking 12+ huge stouts beforehand.
