Bomber from Tavour. Nose is vanilla, chocolate, coconut, and light bourbon. Black with a medium lightly lacing cinnamon tan head. Flavor is lightly bitter, contrastingly and mildly sweet, a hint of char, with a small amount of bourbon. Nice!

On tap at Hops & Pie, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out heaps of bourbon barrel complexity, with light-to-moderate coconut. Flavour is massive, with loads of bourbon barrel character, moderate coconut, and a hint of roast. Very nice use of the barrels, imparting a finish of bourbon and vanilla, with medium sweetness. Excellent.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/31/2017. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, coconut, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of molasses, raisin, smoke, and roast/toast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, coconut, and bourbon barrel notes; with great strength. A bit of booze in the aromas as it warms. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, coconut, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of molasses, raisin, smoke, char, and roast/toast/oak earthiness. Light roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, coconut, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, dark bread, light smoke/char, and roast/toast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt. coconut, and bourbon barrel flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; and zero cloying or acrid roasted flavors after the finish. Light dryness from roast bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/rich, and lightly chalky/grainy/sticky/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden; a small pleasant warmth and mild barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is an incredible barrel aged imperial porter! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt. coconut, and bourbon barrel flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on for the big ABV. Pretty much perfectly balanced between malt, coconut, and barrel flavors. Never overly boozy/tannic on the barrels. Very rich and dessert-like, but not overly sweet. Fantastic malt complexity, and not too overly roasty for the style. A highly enjoyable offering.
