0.375 l bottle from 'belgiuminabox.com', bottled in December 2016, cellared for one-and-a-half years. Clear, amber with a medium large, slightly fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sourish, fairly funky, gently fruity aroma of loads of horse blanket, leather, lemon, rhubarb, some oak and a touch of apple. Gently sour, very funky, gently fruity taste of apple, lemon, rhubarb, horse blanket, oak and some leather, followed by a medium long, gently tart, woody-dry and rather funky finish. Medium body, slightly astringent, spritzy and quite effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Lovely Gueuze again from Boon, well-balanced as always, still very complex and demanding.

Bottle, shared with Nolen. Pours lightly hazy golden orange, small off white head, decent lacing, but dissipates pretty quickly. Aroma of light oak, basement, Brett, lemon, socks, hint of honey. Flavor is light sweet, light plus funk. Light plus body. I still say that 79 is much more complex.

22 February 2019. Bierproeverij CVO Gent, pre-tasting welcome drink - thanks to Peter! Shared with Anke. Bottled: 20/12/16. Batch #74503. Pours hazy golden-orange with a lasting, small, foamy, off-white head; some lacing. Intense & deep aroma of cellar, barnyard, dust, leather, attic, cobwebs, vinegar, horseblanket, wood, faint vanilla, unripe apricot, old apple. Taste is medium to heavy funky sour, pure leather, dust & cellar, supported by a light woody bitterness that has oak, barnyard & more pronounced vinegar; sweetish unripe fruit notes in the back but hardly noticeable, faintly lactic & grassy too. Very dry, woody finish, more vinegar, leather, cellar & dust, tannins at work, faint grassy hops, and some subtle warming white wine-like alcohol to top it off (or, in combination with the vinegar, something I like to call 'sour Jesus wine'). Medium body, slick-oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Very complex brew, nicely done.

Taster showing deep gold with no head. The nose shows moderately tart acetic notes with lighter hints of white wine and brett. The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Moderately tart with a moderately acetic edge and pronounced notes of brett, nuttiness, and lighter notes of oak, port, and sauvignon blanc.

Vat 108 Clear amber gold with a filly eggshell white aroma. The aroma is like a peppery funk while the smoothly slick body has a very tangy acidic citrus. Very smooth bodied with tannic oak in the aftertaste and hearty doses of funk. In a word, smoothly acidic. Ap 4 Ar 8 t 8 p 4 o 14
