With aromas of chocolate espresso torte and woody, minty hops, this English porter has a smooth and lightly creamy body finishing a bit bitter, just like its namesake, William Windsor – the cashmere goat who served as Lance Corporal in an infantry battalion of the British Army.
Briefly demoted for “unacceptable behaviour, lack of decorum, and disobeying a direct order” for headbutting a drummer at the Queen’s 80th birthday, a Canadian animal rights group protested to the British Army that he was merely “acting a goat” and William was reinstated.
He retired from his illustrious 8-year career in 2009, returning to Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire, England.
