Rerated 2024 - 500ml bottle from Plodine supermarket, near Split. As below. Quite enjoyable. Old rating from 2003 - From the tap in Zagreb. Pours dark brown with foamy beige head. Aromas & tastes of chocolate, caramel, toffee & roasted malt. Medium body. Dry finish

Big half liter bottle, a little over a pint. Big and really dark brown but not black. Makes me wonder if it really is a schwarz. Friendly dark beer roasty malt nose. First taste is rather mild and yummy, I'm liking this from the start. Nice level of carbonation too! Hey this goes down way too easy. A little bit of farmy flavor hiding in the background. Gives it a somewhat unique and like-able aspect on the palate. A good example of what a dark beer should be when it comes to the milder varieties. This is certainly has a civilized friendly dark beer finish with no bitter bullshit what-so-ever. I'd say this is more like a dunkel, but as a schwarz, its right up their with Uinta Baba Black, Brewtus May the Schwartz Be With You or even Krušovice Černé.

Pour is a black with a fast dissolving mocha head. Aroma is of slight roasted malt. Flavor is a nice roasted and charred malt with some green hop finish. This was a decent roasty schwarzbier.

Bottle on 14th July 2023 from Spar, on a large housing estate in Zagreb. Pours deep ruby brown with transient brown foam. Roasty malts and berry fruits in aroma. Very malty in-mouth with notes of gingerbread. A malty finish with a few spices. Medium bodied with a zingy mouthfeel. 737314. Re-rating July 2023 On tap at Fakin, Zagreb on 12th July 2023. Deep ruby black with pale tan foam and partial lacing. Fruity aroma with plum, black grape, caramel malts and mild spices. Roasty malts with hazelnut nuttiness in-mouth. A finish of roast malts and hints of cherry fruits. Medium body and an engaging mouthfeel. 747315
