Tak tohle pivo má sílu. Světlé pivo 14° souzní s mocí přírody – vrcholy, vichry a vodopády. Zaujme vás správnou hořkostí a překvapivou lehkostí. Velice příjemně potěší hned od začátku, proto ho vypijete rychleji, než udeří hrom nad Milíři. Brzy vás vynese do výšek Jizery, Smrku a Smědavské hory. A takové zůstává i při dalších doušcích. Pyšní se vyváženou chutí ukrývající druhou vrstvu a přednosti, které postupně vyniknou později. Jeho intenzita přitom ze začátku spíše uklidňuje a netlačí za každou cenu.

Bottle (as Konrad Christmas Beer). Pours clear golden with small white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, straw, flowers and lemon. Taste is initial light bitter and light acidic then medium sweet. Body is light oily with good carbonation. Finish is long and sweet with notes of caramel and lemon.

50 cl. bottle as Konrad Christmas Beer, poured in to a flute. Clear, golden colour with a light amber tint. Huge, fluffy white head. Fruity aroma with grasses, light caramel malts, sweet fruits and floral hops. Taste is light sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Short lightly bitter finish with caramel malts and grasses. To sweet and malty for a good Czech pilsner.

New Beer Distributors, NYC 50cl ($4.50): Pours golden with white head. Aroma is grass, sweetish malts. It sort of reminds me of a mix of a Geman and Czech pilsner. Definitely more hops than many other Czech pilsners, which are just too sweet. Nice body. Quite crisp. A pleasant pils.

Bottle as "Christmas Beer", 6%. Clear amber with big off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toasted, grass and straw. Flavour is malt, caramel, grainy, medium sweet, grass, toasted and a little bitter.

Bei einem Besuch des Ještěds, einem Aussichtsturm auf dem Hausberg von Liberec, fand ich in einem Touristenabzock-Souvenirladen eine 3er-Schachtel mit Konrad-Bieren. Da ich des sonst nirgends fand, nahm ich sie natürlich mit. Warum es kein Supermarkt im Sortiment hatte, war nach dem verkosten klar: keines der Biere konnte wirklich begeistern. Aber dieses war das unangenehmste. Es hatte neben chemischen Brotteignoten einen Beigeschmack nach altem Reis, dazu ein paar alte Früchte. Fertig war der miese Bock. Kann man trinken, will man aber nicht.

Glowing gold with a large white head that lasts well. Bready and spicy aroma with some floral and earthy notes. Sweet breadcrusts, honey, faint butter; earthy with balancing bitterness and lingering spices. Alcohol well hidden. Robust with rich malts; dry enough and just bitter enough to avoid being cloying. Very decent special.

Dość dobre piwo o słodowym zdecydowanym smaku. Piękna bogata i trwała piana utrzymuje sie nad pokalem. Chmielowych nut niestety brak podczas picia, ale na finiszu na końcu języka trochę się zaznacza. Smak jak dla mnie za słodki i trochę przytłaczający, brak tej goryczki która mogłaby to trochę równoważyć.
