22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/6/2012. Pours slightly cloudy ruby red color with a 1 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of sour cherry, apple, cranberry, pepper, oak, clove, earth, leather, hay, grass, funk, red wine vinegar, and earthy yeast spiciness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/funky notes. Taste of tart cherry, apple, cranberry, clove, pepper, oak, leather, hay, grass, earth, red wine vinegar, and earthy yeast spiciness. Fair amount of earthy fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart fruits, clove, oak, pepper, leather, hay, grass, earth, red wine vinegar, funk, and earthy yeast spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of flavors; with a nicely moderate acidity balance; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly slick, acidic, and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice sour red ale! Very nice flavor complexity and balance of acidity; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle shared by Dallas, thanks man! Pours a cloudy brown color with a swirling white head. A sour nose with oak and cherries. The flavor is a good Old Bruin inspired brew with tart cherry, woody, brown sugar, light sawdust. Very nice.

Bottle, 75cl. It pours a more or less clear body, reddish dark golden in color and with a thin layer of off-white bubbles. The aroma is berry-ish and sourish, quite straightforward. Blueberries? The flavor is mostly on the berry side, with some vinegar, lemon notes and a touch of malts. Quite dry. Berry finish. Well, not my favorite, it’s nice, but lacks big time on complexity. 121109

Sampled the 2012 version at the 15th annual MBGSF. Pours a hazy orange amber with a tan head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma is extremely sour with a vinegar note that is quite off putting and quite extreme. Flavor is similarly bitter and sour with a strong vinegar note that overpowers anything else in the beer.

Bottle shared by badnewsbeers. Deep translucent orange-red body, thin off-white head/ring of carbonation. Nose of raspberry vinaigrette, cobwebby, dusty, and tart/fruity; Rodenbachesque. Body with funky cheese/toejam and cobwebs, tart but not too sour. The aroma hinted at a more sour body, but the funk was still nice.
