Sample at the North Park taproom. Brown-black color with a medium thick khaki head that recedes gradually to a film. Small patches of lace. Aroma of oak, malt, chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky whiskey, rye malt, chocolate and coffee. The finish is oaky and boozy with a chocolate malt and rye whiskey aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On tap at Belching Beaver North Park. Dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of dark malt, chocolate, coffee and some oak. The finish was fairly long. A pleasant one.

Draft - Dark boozy roast and some nutty notes. Jet black with a decent beige head. Dark and roasty with bourbon and some heat on the throat.

Aroma is a lot of cocoa and a little roast. Flavor is first and foremost dark sweet malt and Cocoa then a little bit of roast comes in and accentuated with alcohol Heat it’s an okay Imperial Stout but I wouldn’t go Ga-ga over it.

Draft at Imbibe Wine. Nose is aniise, tobacco, chocolate, vanilla, and a hint of whisky. Black with brown edges and a medium heavy lacing tan head . Flavor is sweet with licorice, vanilla, chocolate, and whiskey. Nice

Draft @ Belching Beaver - North Park, San Diego, CA. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty woody whiskey aroma with hints of chocolate and licorice. Roasted sweetish malty woody whiskey chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty woody whiskey chocolate vanilla finish.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight, transient beige/tan head. Aromas of chocolate, anise, and hints of rather dark fruit. Flavor is treacle, rye, chocolate, hint of coffee. Heat? Not much in the mouth; mostly in the gullet. This is dessert! Quite delicious.

22 oz waxed bottle shared by a friend, thanks Mike! Labelled as Ol’ Dirty Barrel (ODB). Bottle #1092. Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of big whiskey, dark chocolate, caramel, oak. Tastes of dark chocolate, caramel, whiskey. Medium-full body with a dry finish.
