You meet a hazy stranger one night. You take his hand and let him take you far away. You feel safe and sound, everything smells of fresh oranges, mangoes and a hint of pine. Suddenly it happens. The bitter sting, the citrus overload, the knife behind the curtain. You give in. You want more.

Citrusy and juicy, more a NEIPA than an American IPA

JUL-2019. Batch 2. DRAFT. Palest straw. Bright apricot aroma, no sugars, no ugly hop resins. Dry enough to not be tutti frutti but still flavourful, just the right pithy bitterness without hop burn. Hit the sweet spot right in the middle. 4,1/5.
APR-2019. DRAFT. Cloudy golden, white head. The aroma is quite hoppy, but not downrigth crazy - pithy citrus, light malts. The taste goes on with the citrus and peel. No big sweetness, no tutti fruity hops, but the residual sweetness is a bit plain sugary. The body and the aftertaste bitterness have a pleasant mildly polyphenolic mouth-coating astringency. Overall, a nicely balanced well made modern IPA that stays well away from the fruit juice territory. 7-4-7-4-15=3,7.
BOTTLE. Cloudy dirty amber - looks oxidated, white head. The aroma is mostly citrus peel, some sugar, some mellow fruitier and bubble gum notes, followed by light but clear stale citrus - quite strong, but does not have that fresh squeezed feel. The taste has the same feel. Just moderate sweetness, citrus peel, pithy and zesty bitterness. Not bad overall, but seems to be handicapped by the bottling - does not seem to be downright off, but if it had that fresh hop juice character, it's certainly lost now. 7-3-7-4-14=3,5.
