Award winning Pure UBU is a well-balanced, full flavoured amber ale, named after our faithful canine friend, Tess. Often found lazing around the farm, she affectionately earnt the nickname ‘Useless Bloody Urchin’, shortened to UBU and a beer was named in her honour.

Cask at the Squirrel, Penn Street, 01/10/22. Golden amber with a good sized lasting just off white cap, full glass lacing ensues. Nose is dried fruits, toffee, grains, crackers, biscuit. Taste comprises fruit slice, caramel, brown bread, straw, biscuit. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close a light bitter edge. Decent cask bitter.

Clear chestnut brown with a frothy/creamy off-white head and a fruit malt aroma. Light to medium bodied, very slightly creamy, sweet caramel comes through alongside berry fruits and a touch of dry bitterness in the finish

Bottle from Warwick Real Ale. Appearance - deep amber to brown. Cream fluffy head. Nose - brien bread, chewy toffee and an edge edge of nougat. Taste - toffee, nuts and brown bread. Palate - medium bodied, chewy texture, light roasty finish. Overall - good.

500ml bottle from Morrisons. Pours amber/chestnut, moderate sized head, good retention. Aroma of sweet biscuit malts, herbs. Taste is sweet, non-descript hoppy (well I'm no expert!), biscuit malts, toast. Nice bitterness. Moderate body and low carbonation. A good bitter.
