Deeper notes of berries, red grape skin, and tannins balance this normally sweet beer into something else.

The brethren provideth. Slightly opaque copper gold. Thick frothy foamy white head. Aroma has doughy malts, caramel popcorn. Citrus and red vinous notes come in but are subtle. Flavourwise the red wine comes to the fore to combine with rhe more fruit base beer for a really jammy effect. Bitter vinous edge then appears. Slightly metallic. The barrel really does take over. Warming. Light-medium bodied. Thin to slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation l. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Enjoyable warming stuff. The barrel works.
