On tap at Societe, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Nose has a pretty authentic Belgian yeast expression, with light candi sugar, some gentle spiciness, and soft sweet malt. Flavour is more estery than I'd want, with plenty of candi sugar, esters, and sweet toasted malt. Though the nose had an authentic expression, the flavour and body are more indicative of a typical, under-attenuated Belgian beer. Too sweet, not carb'd enough. Meh.

[[2/20/15] Draught at Societe in San Diego. Clear golden. Aroma of fruits – mostly apples, a bit of peach – and a spicy note. Sweet fruity flavor, mildly spicy, with a drier and slightly alcoholic finish. Medium-bodied.

Keg at Churchills, San Marcos, 14/11/14. Clear golden with a decent white covering. Nose is yeast esters, straw, cereals, light spice, lemon rind. Taste comprises caramel, lemon peel, light spice, more cereals, candied fruits, Belgian yeast tones. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with earthy tones. Ok Belgo, drinks well below the ABV.

Poured up on tap at the brewery where it exhibits a gold body that has a slight hazy body that supports a near white head that leaves behind a thin mesh sheet of lacing. The aroma is kind of sweet and malty with sort of a honey note heading into doughy graininess with a tart kind of funkiness going on in the background. The tartness seems lime and vaguely fruity and it adds a nice balance to the aromatics. The taste is similar where it is smooth and bready with a dash of caramel, some malts and then getting into just a little bit of apple and pear and kind of a honey like sweetness. Ringing around these notes are thin loops of spicy Belgian yeastiness and a mild fruity tartness. Overall this comes together pretty well creating a dangerously drinkable beer.

Tap. Pours clear yellow gold, small white head, dissipates quickly, some lacing. Aroma is grassy, pepper, yeast, honey, clove. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, a bit weird on the finish. Lingering lemon zest bitterness. Medium body. Meh.

Sample at the tasting room. This brew pours a clear golden color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of yeast, malt and floral hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of earthy yeast, grainy malt and hops. The finish is spicy with an herbal yeast and malt aftertaste. Decent overall.
