No dating on the 12.7 ounce bottle.
Pours a pitch black with a small head of tannish foam, not much lacing. Rather typical of beers with this high an abv.
The smell is complex and strong. Whiskey, vanilla, roasted malt, dark pitted fruit, toffee, and yeah, alcohol.
Whiskey taste up front, vanilla is there in spades, toffee, Port flavour is not to be denied, red wine barreling brings out a light vinous character. Yum. Lots of warming during the swallow, also noticeable in the taste, the alcohol, but it does not interfere with me enjoying this brew.
Near full bodied if it isn't, adequate carbonation.
Man, even at $11 for a bottle, I reckon that
