Poplar Tears - a long awaited collaboration with @burlingtonbeer is finally here and a beautiful addition to our mixed ferm program.
This four-barrel blended mixed fermentation dark ale is the first of its kind for us. Crafted from three golden sour barrels and one dark stout, it pours deep and rich, with a medium body. Subtle aromas of coffee and cacao invite you to indulge in that first sip that bursts with sweet cherries and dark fruits before settling into a light chocolatey finish.
If Black Forest cake could be bottled, served, and made boozy—this would be it.

Stemware at the source.
Frothy, Flanders feels.
Nose is mostly cocoa & cola.
Rodenbach plus Belgian stout blend. Milky cocoa, mellow roast, slight acid, cherries, brett, faded hops, yep, that's what it is. Too simple for the price.

On tap at Blind Tiger. Pours near black with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dark fruits and a bit of earthy grain with a good amount of oak coming through. Flavor has rich cherry and a light tartness with oak and a light earthiness coming through.
