Russian Imperial Oatmeal Stout. If thrown in the old jailhouse, this is the beer we cook. Jailhouse Brew is complex and opaque like the story that got us locked up. It’s coffee, smoke and body salts behind iron bars, and it’s strong enough to get us out again.

Caña en el lupulo. Color negro brillante con espuma beige. Maltas tostadas cacaos lactosas vainilla y ligeros cocos. Cuerpo ligero fácil de beber. Se echa de menos algo más de densidad. Bastante buena. Para repetir.

Bottle from Hopt.nl, batch #2 BB 22/12/18, 33 cl sample. Dark brown color, medium frothy brown head. Aroma has a lot of typical imperial stout features, but focuses mainly on dark bread, dark fruit and a bit of coffee. Dry and roasty bitterness in taste, dark bread crust. Not a lot of sweetness, some earthy bitterness. Good, straighforward brew.

At a tasting, thanks, small stable creamy brown head, dark brown color with reddish taints, aroma of chocolate, cocoa, hint of mud and a whiff of vanila, flavor of dark bread, metal, chocolate and a earthy hint in the back. Nice but not too exciting.
