This past spring we had the great pleasure of selecting New Zealand hops from our friends at Freestyle hops! This process is essential to our hoppy beer program, as it allows us to choose unique and delectable lots of hops you won't get to taste anywhere else.
This year we selected for the varietal Motueka. This is a hop that has really jumped into the A-Team, all star hops category for us in recent years. It’s been around for decades (since 1996!) but growers have really dialed it in to be its fruitiest, best over the last number of years. When we select for Motueka, that’s what we’re after. We’re looking for a lot that presents us with its signature mojito lime, but also has some later harvest mixed tropical notes with a little hit of that signature New Zealand dankness that we equally covet.
We’re thrilled to be able to share our selection of Motueka with you.

A hazed milky yellow ipa with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light tropical fruits, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, light mineral notes, tropical fruits, very nice. Can.
