Fall...and what is the first thing to start popping up everywhere? Pumpkin errrythang! We figured out our head brewer is just as basic as the rest when he said he wanted to brew this, but we liked the name so we let him do it. From picking out our own pumpkins and roasting them in our kitchen, to the Dark Horse Coffee we used with subtle amounts of spices, there is nothing basic about this beer. It starts off as an English Porter then we hiked up the ABV for these cooler months. Smooth milk chocolate and light roasty character dominate with a medium body from lactose and oats. The coffee comes out on the nose like a fresh bag of espresso, and is soon followed by the pumpkin spices as it all follows through to a lingering finish. If you want a pumpkin latte to catch you a buzz this season, this beer’s for you!
