Sometimes you arrive at a new idea by flipping things around. For this IPA we looked beyond the familiar Pacific Northwest hops and chose four Southern Hemisphere varieties with notes of grapefruit, pine, passionfruit, and pineapple.

Slight haze, amber. Little bit of head. Some floral hop aromas, with pear. On the palate, it's got lots of bitterness, vinous notes, pear again. Some alcohol in the finish as well. It's got a fair bit of malt, though it's not the greatest malt character. More simple, and not 100% in alignment with the complex hops.

16 oz. can, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has some tangy hops, some citrus, soft pine, and biscuity malt. Flavour is bright, with a nice piney hop character, some spicy pine needles, citrus, and biscuity malt. Piney, tangy and moderately bitter. Good hop expression.
