Written 5.3% ABV. at the brewpub and was told it was a dark ale. Pours a dark copper colour with a beige head and thin creamy lace. The nose is a blend of roasted, caramel malts with hints of sourness, fruitiness and chocolate. The taste is lightly bitter over the roasted malts. Nutty flavours lingers. The mouthfeel is a nice balance between wet at first and a little dry in the finish. A decent dark ale with just a little more hops than most, and not a black IPA.
