375 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 7/2016. Pours fairly clear reddish orange/amber color with a 2 finger foamy and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lightly tart cherry, plum, berry, lemon, peach, apricot, apple, red grape, hay, straw, floral, grass, wood, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/funky/spicy yeast and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of lightly tart cherry, plum, berry, lemon, peach, apricot, apple, red grape, hay, straw, floral, grass, wood, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate yeast spiciness and light lactic tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of cherry, plum, berry, lemon, peach, apricot, apple, red grape, hay, straw, floral, grass, wood, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, lightly toasted bread, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance, and zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from tart/spiciness and carbonation, increasing through the glass. High carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately bready/grainy, and lightly acidic/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Fairly foamy/prickly on carbonation. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.5%. Overall this is a very good sour red ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/spicy yeast and bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink; with the foamy/prickly carbonation and mildly tart/lactic finish. This feels a bit tame, but has some nice complexities. Well rounded Brett and balanced Belgian yeast notes; with pretty mild Lacto presence. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Reddish brown with a beige head that’s soon gone. 3- Funky aroma with plums and decaying wood, pasture. Just getting a bit close to the unpleasant edge of agricultural odours. But the taste is not confronting but is complex enough: some light bread crust, plums, cherries. A pleasant balance of sweet fruit and lactic sourness with a slight astringent edge.
