Inspired by the Brettnomyces fermented Old Ales of 19th-century Britain.
Brewed using Chevallier malt, the most widely used barley in the 19th-century. The beer was then rested in three unpeated and one peated whisky barrel from our friends at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown.
Rich toee aromas with notes of grassy peat smoke, whisky and dried fruits. Complex body of dried fruits, rich malt notes and a honeyed whisky finish.

Bottle picked up at Luvians St Andrews. It pours slightly hazy copperish - brown with a small fluffy white cap. The aroma is damp oak, leather, bitter - sweet, touch of umami, liquorice, slightly medicinal, touch of ketchup, savoury whisky, tangy berry, bramble and raspberry. The taste is sour and puckering upfront, tart, damp oak, firmly dry, musty, earthy, dull medicinal vibes, crunchy granny smith apple, gooseberry, dried berry, touch of tannin, tangfastics, liquorice, savoury, salty whisky and a touch of leather..finish is firm and dry. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Nice depth
and quite a unique flavour profile. Interesting and novel.

Bottle shared thanks to got of thunder. A hazed hazed beige head. Aroma is sharp tangy green apple, funk, vinegar, alcohol, woody bark. Flavour is composed of Green apple. Char bark. Palate is semi sweet, tangy, funky, highish carbonation. Harsh overall.
