Sun Gold is the newest beer in our ongoing Appalachian Grisette series where we feature a unique local heritage grain. Brewed with local malt from Riverbend Malt House of Asheville, North Carolina and raw sun gold spelt courtsey of Red Tail Grains of Efland, North Carolina. Much like Bloody Butcher, Sun Gold is very dry, effervescent, rustic and tart.

Bottle. Pours clear yellow gold, small white head, decent lacing. Aroma is grain, lemon, dust, yeast, green apple. Flavor is light plus tart, lemony. Light body.

Bottle sample at Heist bottle share. Hazy yellow color white head. Aroma of overripe lemon, light herbs. Taste is herbal citrus and straw. Tasty.

Bottle thanks to Rainer. Pours a cloudy yellow with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is cucumber, pepper, funk. Medium mouth, lemon zest, funky, wheat, nice tartness, really enjoyed this.
